Surgery Desciption

A patient with advanced EBMD that interferes with the surgeon’s visibility undergoes phacoemulsification. OVDs that are retained on the corneal surface and the corneal dome are utilized.

Learning Objective

After completion of this educational activity, participants should be able to demonstrate the techniques and rationale for the use of retentive OVDs that coat the epithelium and endothelium during cataract surgery.
