This complex case features removal of a posterior chamber IOL that is sutured to the iris, posterior synechiolysis and removal of a secondary membrane and large Soemmering’s ring in an eye that has undergone previous pars plana vitrectomy for retinal detachment. A scleral fixated (Yamane technique) IOL is then inserted.

Learning Objective

After completion of this educational activity, participants should be able to identify and perform methods of dislocated IOL exchange in the presence of abnormal anterior segment anatomy.
